Welcome
The Regional Prevention Center (RPC)
serves communities, families and individuals in Johnson, Leavenworth
and Miami counties.
The RPC is committed to helping create
healthy and positive communities for children and youth.
Services available include presentations, a lending resource
library, educational brochures, statistical and technical
assistance.
STOP Underage Drinking Project Awards Scholarships
On Monday, June 4, at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate in Overland
Park, KS, the STOP Underage Drinking Project awarded eight
Johnson County students with $1,000 college scholarships. The
scholarship recipients entered an application stating their
personal beliefs concerning underage drinking and their personal
experiences with prevention. They included a biography with
letters of reference from their school, community and parents.
The
scholarships were awarded to: Richard Bennett, Blue Valley
North High School; Dallas Crossland, Blue Valley Northwest
High School; Catherine Queen, Pembroke Hill; Courtney Scott,
Blue West High School; Kelly Sullivan, Mill Valley High School;
Ashley Winkler, Olathe South High School; Nicole Witt, Shawnee
Mission North High School and Kyle Zimmerman, Shawnee Mission
West High School.
These highly qualified individuals will
serve as role models for Johnson County youth. STOP is pleased
to recognize the
outstanding achievements of these 8 students.
